Winter is here, days are short and the Sun is low in the sky. You’re thinking the sun is not strong and won’t burn you. WRONG, we still need to protect ourselves from the harsh UV Rays, even if the sun is not shining brightly we are subject to sun burns. Working outdoors in sunny southern California I have first hand experience on the effects and harmful results due to exposure to UV rays during the cool winter months. During a pleasant day with overcast clouds and 15 mile per hour winds the temperature was cool 64 degrees. I was under a tarp and not under the direct sun, thinking I was well protected I did not bother to use sun protection. It’s a good idea to wear cancer preventing clothing and accessories during the day in the winter while enjoying your favorite out door sport.
